this role you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all
logistics related tasks and activities to support the timely
delivery of goods and materials to Supply Chain Management clients.

What You Will Do:
- Strategically partner with the business to assess
current/future business requirements and utilize this information
for logistics planning purposes.
- Develop accurate forecast on total cost to the project
(delivery time and logistics cost).
- Identify and conduct risk analysis and plan for effective
mitigating solutions.
- Oversee logistics moves with suppliers and monitor supplier
delivery.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and develop continuous
improvement plans with key logistics suppliers including developing
corrective action plans to remedy supplier non-performance.
- Resolve contract related logistics issues with suppliers.
- Develop and build supplier relationships with key supplier
stakeholders.
- Participate in the development of education for the business
(client) on the subject of logistics.
- Provide subject matter expert advice to stakeholders, such as
SCM, Engineering and Operations on development of shipping method
specifications for pipeline materials, equipment, and other
cargo.
- Enable Supply Chain strategic objectives by periodically
reviewing and recommending adjustments to systems/tools.
- Develop logistics strategies for tactical moves.
- Manage the coordination of international shipments including
proper documentation and customs clearance.
- Provide reports and other pertinent transportation data to
stakeholders and SCM (as required).
Who You Are:
Required:
- A related university degree and four or more years of directly
related experience; combination of education and experience may be
considered.
- Well versed in Supply Chain Management principles & practices
(laws & regulations).
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory management
principles.
- Strong customer service orientation while managing client
expectations and competing priorities.
- Ability to integrate well within a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency of MS Windows, Outlook and Office Suite (Word,
Excel & Power Point).
Preferred:
- Knowledge of transportation laws, regulations, and basic
carrier rate structures (tariffs, surcharges etc.).
- Enrollment in a SCM related professional certification, such as
PMAC or ISM, is considered an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping,
kneeling, light moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds),
reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting,
standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color
coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to
sit at a computer for long periods of time.
- Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not
limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or
written instructions or other information, understand complex
problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize
thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and
prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions
which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor
impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions
and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines,
memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via
telephone.
