          • Administer the personnel security program to include requests and follow-up for full field or background investigations.
          • Review investigative reports on suitability of employees from security standpoint to coordinate with the personnel office in cases where derogatory information is involved.
          • Develop program policies, procedures, and objectives for a security office.
          • Manage a comprehensive program for emergency actions during natural disaster and national crises.
          • Provide advice to other federal, state, and local law enforcement officials for a security office.
          • Review construction plans and specifications for compliance with security measures.
          • Review scopes of work and contract documents to ensure compliance with security measures.
          • Provide advice to senior management on security issues pertaining to a wide variety of industrial, operations, construction, and marine situations.
          • Determine if an allegation or incident is a violation of state or federal law to notify the appropriate agency for action. Help Requirements Conditions of Employment

            • Must be able to obtain Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
            • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes at least 3 out of 4 the following: 1) Analyzing or resolving security issues for a security or law enforcement office; OR 2) Conducting security inspections, investigations, or surveys for a security or law enforcement office; OR 3) Implementing a program related to security, natural disaster, or national emergency for a security or law enforcement office; OR 4) Interpreting regulations to develop plans or policies related to security or law enforcement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
