Job Description:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Health Care
Administration, Business, Industrial Engineering or related field.
One year of fellowship or externship in hospital process
improvement or two years of direct experience in process
improvement or project management. Job Summary: Under general
supervision, coordinates activities for System Optimization &
Performance, coordinates aspects of planning, event, and follow-up
activities. Facilitates small groups and meetings. Documents
improvement events and related activities. Provides basic project
management/activity tracking support for all departmental work
products as appropriate. Teaches basic lean content. Job Duties:
ADMINISTRATION/DOCUMENTATION
- Documents improvement events ensuring standard work is adhered
to for adequate planning,
- preparation and follow-through, as well as for tools and
process used in these events.
- Creates, develops, reviews and improves Standard Work.
- Completes administrative duties associated with improvement
activities and other departmental work efforts.
- Provides Onboarding, Orientation, Training and Competency
Assurance of other coordinators as assigned. MEETINGS/IMPROVEMENT
ACTIVITIES
- Facilitates small groups and meetings.
- Supports leadership and frontline staff with implementation of
improvement activities and problem solving. PROJECT
MANAGEMENT/TRACKING
- Helps to coordinate activities in system optimization
classes
- May teach sections of training courses
- Provides basic project management/activity tracking support for
all departmental work products as appropriate. TIME
STUDIES/OBSERVATION
- Conducts baseline assessments, observations, and supports
standard work implementation
- Provides basis improvement analyses and reports
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Lean tools.
- Basic statistical analysis and data management skills.
- Effective team building skills.
- Able to document and measure results.
- Strong project management skills.
- Able to use Microsoft Office software including
PowerPoint.
- Strong written/verbal communication.
- Strong troubleshooting/Problem-solving skills.
- Able to influence and motivate others.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong Conflict management/mediation skills. Preferred
Qualifications:
- Masters degree
- Healthcare related experience with team leadership experience,
preferred.
- Facilitation/coaching experience, knowledge of Lean Toyota
Production System implementation and approach Working Environment:
- Lifting
- Fast paced environment, Able to handle multiple priorities,
Frequent & intense customer interactions, Able to adapt to frequent
change, Works under deadlines, Works as part of a team
- Continuous keyboard use > 2 hrs or intermittent keyboard use
> 4 hrs, Forceful hand exertions greater than a total of 2
hours
- May be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable
diseases, blood borne pathogens, ionizing & non-ionizing radiation,
hazardous medications and disoriented or combative patients or
others. Salary Range: Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on
