Bilingual Patient Access Representative.
The Patient Access Representative verifies the eligibility and
availability of a patient's insurance status with insurance
companies to ensure proper coverage and payment for services.
Working with other members of the team, this role will also
coordinate the patient scheduling, insurance pre-certification and
authorizations. Duties include completion of pre-registration
processes and providing patients with information regarding access
to additional external financial resources when appropriate. This
position will provide assistance with patient registration when
High School Diploma/GED required
2 years Administrative and Customer Services required
1 year patient access experience in a pediatric hospital/clinic
Bilingual English/Spanish required
Processes appointment requests for all types of outpatient
appointments for new and established patients.
Obtains patient consents as required and documents in appropriate
Completes timely and accurate verification of insurance prior to
patient arrival for services, during hospitalization and after
discharge to meet patient needs.
Obtains, records and scans patient insurance information into
electronic scheduler. - Ensures insurance information recorded
matches the insurance card.
Provides patients with financial counseling in order to optimize
access to appropriate external resources.
