Shriners Children's Texas, trusted leaders in specialty pediatric healthcare, has an opportunity for a Donor Development Officer to join our team. The Officer is a hospital-based position that reports directly to the hospital's Director of Donor Development. Identifies and cultivates prospective donors in the local community from whom to solicit gifts. Nurture donor relationships through regular contact, communication and recognition. For the purpose of fund raising, develops and maintains relationships with hospital-affiliated Shriner Temples and the local community and beyond. Responsible for following and fulfilling the objectives and goals disseminated by Shriners Hospitals for Children's national and local boards. Directs, mentors, trains and supports a hospital-based development assistant. This position requires the willingness and ability to travel as needed and willing to occasionally work evenings and weekends when necessary Job Requirement Required Education

  • Bachelor in Business or related filed required Required Experience
    • 3 years Fundraising preferred;
    • 1 year Major giving and planned giving programs preferred
    • 3 years Charitable Gift Annuities Programs preferred Skills and Knowledge Strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with colleagues, donors, administrators and volunteers. Donor database experience preferred.       • Demonstrates a knowledge and ability for building relationships with and obtaining gifts from corporations, foundations, and individuals.
        • Develop solicitation priorities and donor/prospect visitation schedules of the top level staff an volunteer board members.
        • Demonstrates a solid performance record for closing major gifts at levels of five figures and higher.
          • Identifies, cultivates and stewards prospect relationships through personal visit, and written and oral communication for the purpose of obtaining fundraising gifts to support Shriners Hospitals for Children (SHC).
          • Provides effective Support to Local Hospitals, Boards of Governors and affiliated Temples.
            • Provides staff support for hospital and fund raising committees.
            • Effectively completed administrative responsibilities.
