Sodexo is seeking a full time Pediatric Dietitian  to come join their dynamic team at The University of Texas Medical Branch, located in Galveston, TX.

 

Pediatric Dietitian will be responsible for the evaluation/assessment and nutritional intervention/treatment of infants, pediatric, adolescents, and adults. In this role, you will be responsible for direct patient/family interaction, instruction/education, communication with other Team members, and appropriate written documentation of nutrition assessment and treatment plans. You will collaborate and communicate with other members of the team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, respiratory therapists, and other staff and will assist in obtaining necessary insurance authorizations.

 

Position offers sign on bonus of $1500.00

The Registered Dietitian will report to the system Clinical Nutrition Manager. The ideal candidate will:

 

  • Be a Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian, with 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a pediatric setting
  • Be able to perform nutrition-focused physical exams, provide nutrition support recommendations and nutrition education as needed
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes on an ongoing basis
  • Participate in departmental, clinical, and other meetings related to areas of practice
  • Precept dietetic interns and support CNM in corresponding with internship programs
  • Utilize electronic medical records within the practice environment and be familiar with the Nutrition Care Process & Model and Epic Electronic System (preferred)
  • Have a strong focus on driving outstanding patient satisfaction results and driving process improvement activities
  • Stay current with the scientific literature and support the clinical nutrition team, other healthcare providers, students in university programs, foodservice staff, patients, and families in understanding nutrition strategies to support and improve quality of life and clinical outcomes
  • Be an excellent communicator and have the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Be able to creatively problem solve, work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions while working within a self-directed and team-oriented work environment

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services
Key Duties
-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
