Job Title: Dental Hygienist Job Type: Temporary, Floater Job Salary: $30.00 - $32.00/hour *depending on experience* Job Schedule: M-F, 24 to 40 hrs/week Job Location: Houston, TX 77036 Summary We are hiring two temporary Dental Hygienists to serve as temporary floating clinicians supporting a community dental program. Candidates must hold a current, valid Texas Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of application , be very comfortable with frequent travel , and Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred . Key Responsibilities Provide preventive dental care and oral health education in mobile and community settings. Perform assessments, prophylaxis, scaling/root planing as indicated, fluoride applications, and sealant placement when required. Accurately document patient care and maintain records per program protocols. Rotate assignments across program sites based on operational needs. Support community outreach, school screenings, and public-health events. Maintain infection control, sterilization, and safety standards. Collaborate with dentists, program coordinators, and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations. Program Sites (rotating assignments) 77040 77093 77505 77074 77036 Schedule Site-based program hours: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Mobile dental care hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Schedule and assignments will vary with program needs; flexibility and reliable transportation required. Requirements Required Qualifications Current, valid Texas RDH license (must be valid at time of application). Current, valid Basic Life Support certification Comfortable with frequent travel and rotating assignments. Strong patient communication skills; Spanish preferred . Ability to work independently in non-traditional clinic environments. Ability to pass background checks and meet immunization/health screening requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience in public health, school-based programs, or mobile dental units. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English. Experience with electronic dental records and community outreach documentation. Physical and Other Requirements Ability to stand, bend, and perform clinical procedures for extended periods. Comfortable working in a mobile unit and temporary clinic spaces. Reliable transportation for travel between sites and to community events.
