their career with us. SUMMA**RY: The Chief Engineer DDE 4000is
responsible for the safety, administration, maintenance and repairs
of all; permanently installed equipment on board the vessel,
together with the safe and efficient use of the manpower available.
*GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*As the head of the department for
engineering equipment, he/she contributes to the objective that the
ship is always available to be deployed in a safe and efficient
manner. Executes the safety- and environmental policy on board.
Oversees all technical activities. Conducts survey planning with
inspection and verification of items, to maintain the vessel's
class. Manages the vessels technical administration, (SOPEP)
manuals, and Planned Maintenance System. Controls operation of the
technical stores, goods and tools and the correct storage or
processing of incoming supplies. *EDUCATION: *High School Diploma
or equivalent [G.E.D.] with proof of program completion/graduation
from college, maritime, or technical school. *EXPERIENCE:
*Verifiable experience preferred. Must be familiar with vessels
technical equipment with goodknowledge of the systems and
procedures. Applicable understanding ofelectronics and hydraulics.
*REQUIRED CREDENTIALS: ---TWIC card---Driver's License---*USCG MMC
with DDE 4000 HP minimum ---USCG 719k Medical Certificate (STCW) *
Also required] All applicable STCW endorsements: * III/2 Chief
Engineer with applicable restriction * III/1 OICEW with applicable
restriction * III/5 RPFEW * III/4 Able Seafarer-Engine * VI/1 Basic
Training * VI/2 Proficiency in the use of survival craft (PSC) *
VI/3 Advanced Firefighting * VI/4 Medical First Aid Provider * VI/6
VPDSD/Security Awareness Competencies: *Good knowledge of English
(written and spoken). Proactively exercise good judgment and work
according to safety rules and regulations. Ability to effectively
identify and communicate technical issues and information to
others.Competent to undertake the tasks, duties and
responsibilities as Chief Engineer. Requires knowledge of the
relevant and applicable codes, guidelines and standards. *OTHER:
*Typical working rotation is 28 days on and 28 days off. Paid
Travel. *JOB SCOPE: *Position impacts multiple business
units/segments. *WORKING CONDITIONS:*Works outside in conditions of
both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust,
dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially
dangerous equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Job: *Mariners
