Job Description Job Description Salary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the accounting manager in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger system and ensuring the accuracy of the underlying financial data. The Staff Accountant must exercise discretion in executing essential functions and be able to work independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction. Qualifications: 2-3 years of experience working as Staff Accountant preferred. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Solid experience reconciling general ledger accounts, identifying GL errors and booking correcting journal entries. BA degree in accounting. Experience using different financial/accounting software packages. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including effective interpersonal and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive accounting and financial information. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize effectively. Ability to follow up on pending issues. Ability to meet deadlines. Desire to continue professional growth through training.
